12 Days Cape Town, Garden Route & Safari (SELF-DRIVE)

Explore Cape Town’s captivating Peninsula & Winelands permeate by Table Mountain, continue East for a multi-sensory journey along the Garden Route via Swellendam, and be left intrigued with a ‘Big-5’ safari adventure in the Eastern Cape, seeking out prolific antelope & predators across grassy savannah plains.

Day 1-4: Cape Town, South Africa

Experience the ‘Mother City’ and its sublime coastline & local wine-farms. Your hotel at the V&A Waterfront is the perfect base for local exploration and easy walking access to a host of restaurants & shops. Cape Town offers a myriad of activities from its picturesque Cape Peninsula (Chapman’s peak, penguins & Kirstenbosch Gardens), Table Mountain cableway, Robben Island, award-winning restaurants & wineries and more! Stay 4 nights in a 4* hotel based at the V&A Waterfront (bed & breakfast)

Day 5: Swellendam, Western Cape

Today you bid farewell to Cape Town and make your way inland to Swellendam for an overnight stop (2.5hrs). Swellendam is South Africa’s fifth oldest town where most of its charming buildings still maintain its Cape Dutch architecture of yesteryear. This quaint town is synonymous for its warm hospitality, fab local restaurants & largest youngberry growing area just outside Swellendam where Wildebraam Berry Estate offers liqueur tasting and cellar tours.

Spend 1 night in a 4* Boutique Guest House (bed & breakfast)

Day 6-8: Plettenberg Bay, Garden Route

Known as ‘Bahia Formosa’ (beautiful bay) by early Portuguese explorers, the ‘Plett Feeling’ is a given when visiting Plettenberg Bay. Enjoying one of the world’s mildest & most temperate climate, the splendours of this seaside town offer picturesque golden beaches, Robberg Nature Reserve with walking trail, estuaries & lagoons. Birds of Eden & Monkeyland are a fun addition to your visit too. Within one hour’s drive, a visit to the harbour town of Knysna and the Knysna Elephant Park are just some of the highlights to look forward to. Hiking enthusiasts are spoilt for choice within proximity.

Spend 3 nights in a 4* Boutique Guest House (bed & breakfast)

Day 9-11: ‘Big-5’ Safari, Eastern Cape

Today make your way along the Coast for approx. 4hrs to the Eastern Cape and embark on your exciting ‘Big-5’ safari adventure! After your warm welcome, settle into your luxury suite and freshen up for your afternoon game drive and thereafter, enjoy scrumptious dining under the stars. Between dusk & dawn safari activities, guests are invited to engage with staff and learn of the outstanding conservation efforts that set them apart. From top-shelf service levels, educational & enthralling wildlife encounters to fab wine & dining, it’s an unforgettable experience that won’t disappoint.

Spend 3 nights in a 4* Game Lodge (breakfast/lunch/dinner, morning & afternoon game drives plus conservation levy)  

Day 12: Port Elizabeth

After your final morning game drive & breakfast, make your way back to Port Elizabeth Airport and fly home via Johannesburg (own arrangements)
