Private 3 Day South African Wine Tour

Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Paarl - come and enjoy the best that the Cape Winelands have to offer on this South African wine tour. Leaving from Cape Town or the Cape Winelands you’ll experience three fun-filled days with an unforgettable, personalised wine and gourmet tour experience. We will make sure that you taste a wide variety of South African wines across various areas - from Sauvignon Blanc and Chenin Blanc to Shiraz and Pinotage to name but a few. Although we suggest an itinerary, we try to keep the stops as flexible as possible to suit your wine preferences.

Day 1

You will be picked up at your hotel or accommodation in Cape Town or the Cape Winelands in the morning. The first wine tasting of the day will be at Simonsig in the Stellenbosch wine regions who are the premier producers of Champagne style wines (MCC) in the country - a perfect way to start the day.
Next stop will be Kanonkop who are famous for their amazing Pinotage and many other full bodied red wines. Further wine tasting options at either Vrede & Lust or the impressive Boschendal Estate en route to lunch in Franschhoek. Rickety Bridge and Country Grand are great lunch options.
A further wine tasting can take place at either La Motte, Stoney Brook or Grand Provence in the Franschhoek wine region.
In the afternoon, your accommodation awaits. After booking in, there is the option of just lazing around the pool or strolling through the quaint little town of Franschhoek. In the evening, you can enjoy dinner at one of the many top-class restaurants that Franschhoek has to offer. Franschhoek is called the gourmet capital of South Africa.
Recommended restaurants for dinner are Le Bon Vivant, La Petite Colombe, Le Coin Francais and Protège` to name but a few.

- Optional stops through the course of the day could be at Fairview for award winning wines and cheeses or at KWV if you fancy a bit of Brandy and Belgium chocolates. Both estates are located in the Paarl wine region.

Day 2

A nice relaxed start! After breakfast you can visit the Huguenot Museum and the Rose Garden next door. For those who want to spoil themselves there is an opportunity to visit the exclusive Le Franschhoek Hotel and Spa where you can enjoy one of the many treatments on offer.
The first wine tasting will take place at Rainbow’s End, a boutique wine estate in the Stellenbosch region that is off the beaten track. They have lovely wines and the scenery is absolutely breathtaking.
The next port of call will be the iconic Thelema Wine Estate. They have a wide range of impressive red and white wines.
Staying in the wider Stellenbosch wine region, lunch will be at the Postcard Cafe on the spectacular Stark-Conde Wine Estate.
On the way back to Franschhoek, we stop at Vrede & Lust or Glen Carlou for a relaxed wine tasting.
For dinner on the second night, the choice is yours! Franschhoek is home to many of South Africa's top restaurants.

Day 3

Another relaxed start. After breakfast we head back out to Stellenbosch, the wine capital of South Africa. The first wine tasting will be atthe impressive Delaire Graff Estate with amazing views over the valley below.
There is no good South African wine tour without a stop in the town of Stellenbosch. You can take a walk along the popular Dorp Street with its historical old Cape Dutch architecture and vibrant student life. There will also be the opportunity to visit "Oom Samie se Winkel", an old trading post that is a must-see for any foreign visitors.
A chocolate and wine pairing awaits at the stunning Waterford Wine Estate.
Lunch and wine tasting options at either the Guardian Peak Winery & Grill or at the world renowned Rust en Vrede Estate.
Before your 3 day wine tour comes to an end, the final stop will be at Ken Forrester or Meerlust, home of the famous Rubicon. Both estates are well-known for their iconic South African wines.
A perfect ending to a wonderful wine tour - you will be dropped off at your accommodation at the end of the third day.

Please note: We reserve the right to change the accommodation venue.

This is a sample itinerary. We'll gladly take customers' requests for specific vineyards and restaurants into consideration and customise the wine tour.

Please note that we do not run this tour between 24 December and 2 January.
